The polarizing kaleidoscopes that Mr. Hosono has been researching have a simple stainless steel design on the outside, but inside, the tints have become increasingly broad and tasteful. He has also taken on the challenge of collaborating with other artists to create works that are a little different while taking advantage of the fascination of polarized light. This work was created in collaboration with blown glass kaleidoscope artist Motohiro Sato, in which objects made of polarized light and Mr. Sato's glass objects are combined to create a series of unexpected color patterns.
The three-mirror, six-point image overlaps transparent glass objects on top of the polarized light color patterns, creating a unique color pattern. I have introduced several works created in collaboration with Mr. Sato and Mr. Takabayashi, but they are all different and interesting.
