Keiko and Yoshiaki Onodera ”Silk Road of the Desert”

The Silk Road, which has linked civilizations since ancient times, must have captured the imagination of artists.　Keiko and Yoshiaki Onodera created two works on this theme. Each one is one-of-a-kind kaleidoscope.  One is a "road of the sea" and the other is a "road of the desert".
This one is "Silk Road of the Desert".

The glass tube is painted on the inside in mixture of white, gold, silver, brown and blue.　The oil cell is filled with glass and metallic objects, which produces  intricate color patterns with narrow-angled three-mirror system.
