Keiko and Yoshiaki Onodera ”Silk Road of the Sea ”

The Silk Road, which has linked civilizations since ancient times, must have captured the imagination of artists.　Keiko and Yoshiaki Onodera created two works on this theme.  Each one is a one-of-a-kind kaleidoscope. One is a "road of the sea" and the other is a "road of the desert".     This one is "Silk Road of the Sea".

The glass body is painted on the inside by the artist with a special method.  The color is a combination of paints that creates a rich and intense shade of blue-green.
The oil cell is filled with fine objects, and  intricate color patterns develop from a narrow-angled three-mirror system.
