Keiko and Yoshiaki Onodera are creating original glass kaleidoscopes with themes. They have produced 4 pieces inspired by "The Tale of Genji".
"The Tale of Genji" is one of the most famous classic novels of Japan and is written by a female writer called Murasaki Shikibu in the beginning of the 11th century. The tale is a masterpiece consisting of 54 chapters that depicts the life of an imperial prince and ladies and has had a significant influence on later literary works.
This is "HANA-CHIRU-SATO"
It is titled with lady's name and represents its story. The glass tube is hand-painted on inside in light green and soft yellow by the artist .
Intricate color patterns with narrow-angled three-mirror system are amazing. They are produced by fine object pieces.
