Fumie Ino's lacquered kaleidoscopes are modern ones that incorporate traditional Japanese culture.  Cranes, pine trees, and plum blossoms are auspicious themes and are often depicted in Japanese crafts and paintings.  The rotating object cell and the peephole are made of wood, giving the piece a calm appearance.
Enjoy the changes in the images as you rotate the object cell at the tip. Since the object cell is a dry type, the light sound of the glass moving as it rotates is pleasant. The coloring produced by the overlapping glass pieces also shows the originality of  her work.
