Fumie Ino's lacquered kaleidoscopes are modern ones that incorporate traditional Japanese culture. Maki-e lacquer-work grapes and leaves painted on the lacquer cylinder shows a discreet glow against the black luster. The rotating object cell and the peephole are made of wood, giving the piece a calm appearance.
Enjoy the changes in the images as you rotate the object cell at the tip. Since the object cell is a dry type, the light sound of the glass moving as it rotates is pleasant. The coloring produced by the overlapping glass pieces also shows the originality of  her work.
