Ayaka Kobayashi "Twilight" - cherry blossoms -

Twilight series feature beautiful metal colors that look like changing colors of the sky before dawn or after sunset. People are often fascinated by those scenes and so is Ayaka Kobayashi, who is interested in celestial phenomenon. Titanium is light weighted and durable, but not so popular as kaleidoscope material.
It is colored in a special way with her technique.  In this piece, a cylinder is decorated with a pattern of cherry blossoms and petals.
The gemstones used for the object range from the light pink of kunzite and morganite to the  pink tourmaline and the deep pink of ruby. Apatite is the color of the sky, and peridot is the color of the meadow, representing a scene of blooming cherry blossoms.
